just curious... I think most of the cosplayers already have worn a costume at least more than once.... in a conventions most prolly. I've heard good and bad comments about having to wear your "oh so precious" costumes again and again, but can we help it if we want to actually wear the costume again, because we like to cosplay in it?^_^

I'm a costume repeater. I've cosplayed Sakura several times in public already, Ayame & Lilith twice. But people still want me to cosplay Sakura even though I'm quite tired of it XD

Ive been wearing my Seto Kaiba costume for almost 1 year. (except nung Toycon4, nag Magician of Black Chaos ako ^_^ ) Tawag nga pa rin sa akin eh Kuya Kaiba. :P

because we decided to go out as a group again (FF7:AC)

in my case, I would love to wear the costume again if, I became the character during the debut...

You want to be that character and dressed up like
that character and you dont care even if you wear it
again and again because you believe that you are that
character and you feel great about it so its ok....

i'll repeat my xiaoyu cosplay again this 18..and my May costume this 17.. :lol:
i think there's nothing wrong with cosplaying a certain character again and again..hehehe..^^ but i think it'll be hard to repeat/recycle the costume if it's too bulky..hehehe.. :lol:

for example, siguro yung mga likes na.... "some people have award winning costumes, and that particular costume already won more than once, and still those people wear it again and again, and still wins. I wish they would give chance to others naman. :P*

just a thought... and that's something I've already heard from a lot of people again and again. ^_^; Anyway... for me cosplay is still done for fun, and the competition is just there to incourage the cosplayers to make better costumes, like one person said to me once.^_^ This is a "hobby" that we all do for FUN, so I guess if some cosplayer wants to wear that costume again and again, we better leave them be. Win or loose, no hard feelings. For me what's most important is that we are able to be that character for just that one single day... or maybe that few couple of times.^_^

If your costume is all-over body paint (like yung Shiva ni Polence), once you take a bath you can't repeat that costume again... unless you buy a few more pots of body paint.. hehe!

Well there are some costumes that can be repeated and some costumes that can't. There are some costumes that are worth repeating and those that are one-shot.

Some cosplayers repeat costumes so that they can make it better the next time around.

well most cosplayers really do just cosplay for fun & some form of self-expression.
and it's pretty expensive to have costumes done
i think it's just natural to recycle costumes

i might be a good idea for cosplayers to learn how to sew hehehehe

agreed^_^.... that's why I'm already starting to learn pattern making and cutting... mahal magpagawa ng costume... plus I miss the feeling that I make my own costumes.^_^

isa pa minsan kc pag nagrerepeat ka ng costume ngiging trademark mo kung baga ung character na yun parang ung laging nag ssasuke, sila gibs as abared sila lyron as luffy, tessa as sakura, :D

for me oki lng na suotin mo ulit ng mga na suot mo na saki ikaw nmn ang susuot eh... di nmn yung nakapaligid sau...

i've been wearing my Sakura (Shinguji) costume several times... has a story behind it though... first was in UST... i was late and frustrated... promised myself that i'll make my costume win... that's why i had it also on PUP & Splash Island... and eventually won... plus dun na rin ako nakilala... pero yun na ang entry ko sa NCC so i have to repeat it again...

i don't really care if others hate it like that... kanya-kanya lang yan...

my Kurei costume once ko lng nasuot dun sa Pinoy AKo.. pero more than 10 people na ang nakasuot nun.. like nilo, buriki, throng, altaizen, eiri, junichi, louis, jepot atbp wakoko..

ung Sandaime Hokage ko nmn 2 times (Cause-play @ Asilo and Toy Con V day 2) .. 3 times kung isasama ko yung summer hokage cos nung Hero Summer Splash..

and my Auron 2 times din.. sa Moa nung NCC photoshoot at nung day 1 sa Toy Con V.. 3rd time sa July 30 for NCC (ozine fest 06)


wala nmn ako prob sa pag-ulit ng costume, although minsan parang nakakasawa kaya its up to you na lng kung may pwede ka idagdag / modify or may gawing bago XD

i hope makumpleto ko na Auron cos ko for July 30..

I'm going to be cosplaying (slightly) different characters from the same series... So I'll be re-using some elements from the first costume, such as the pants, shoes and the vest... And also next year if there is a rematch for the Cosplay Chess Battle I'm going to go as the same character but slightly modified.

as for me...I don't like recycling costumes.
Wala namang kaso sa kin kung yung iba nag rerecycle, pero ako, ayoko lang, madali ako magsawa.
Nag recycyle na ako ng costume once, and I did it kasi di ako kuntento dun sa itsura nung first costume (pakpak na gawa sa trashbag=TRASH),inulit ko nung Jmuzik, nanalo nga ako, pero honestly, di ako kuntento sa itsura ng costume ko kasi alam kong lame yun at kulang kulang pa sa details. Gusto ko gumawa pa ng final version nung costume na yun kaso...yun nanaman? Nagsasawa na ako.
Ayun, siguro personal thing ko yun as a cosplayer, I'd rather not cosplay for a while than go to an event with the same costume.

I think there's nothing wrong in recycling your costumes. :)

Well in my opinion there is nothing bad if you wear the same costume again for an event. If you like it go ahead. I worn a couple of costumes in certain events twice(which i rarely do because i was forced to).
