POWER STONE COLLECTION TO BE RELEASED ON DECEMBER 2006



Yeah, another reason to get excited. Capcom is making this compilation of Power Stone & Power Stone 2 for PSP. But this time, the original 2-player Power Stone will include 15 characters ~ Fokker/Falcon, Ayame, Wang-Tang, Rouge, Ryoma, Jack, Galuda, Gunrock, Valgas, F. Valgas & Kraken plus the fighters from Power Stone 2 ~ Accel, Julia, Pete & Gourmand! Each will have their very own ending...finally!

The villains Valgas & Kraken will also make an appearance in the 4-player sequel, Power Stone 2. New items have not been confirmed for now but I've read that the CPU opponents are more aggressive than the original game. Gotta buy a PSP!!!

Capcom mentioned that a new camera angle will be added to the game to zoom up the characters at the huge stages so they won't look like ants in the PSP screen.

@wantan: more aggresive cpu opponents? hmm i wonder if they're tough, hmmm... nah!!! doesnt matter lolz and new items? well that would definitely change the gameplay of that game and make it more enjoybale.

it would also be nice to put wierd trap items were you get to loose life, for example a food poison item or a power fushion cancel trap, or an item that temporarily boost the characters speed etc.

Power Stone Manga Review

Before the anime was released there was a manga published by Comic Bombom on 1999. Unlike the anime, the manga only includes 5 main heroes ~ Fokker (an English Boxer & Pilot), Ayame (a Ninja thief), Wang-Tang (a Kempo Master & chef), Ryoma (a wandering Samurai) & Rouge (a mysterious Fortune Teller). Jack, Gunrock & Galuda did not make any cameo in this book.

The anime's storyline is similar to the manga & yet the TV show's missing some important scenes. The manga also includes some characters not present in the TV series.

Scenes that were not shown in the anime:

Ayame vs Fokker
In the manga, there's this exciting battle where Ayame gets to fight Fokker in their super forms. Ayame tries to steal Fokker's powerstone but instead gets a trading card of Valgas. Fokker notices that his most precious possession is gone. Ayame pushes him to trade his powerstone for the card but he refuses so they fight off. Ayame lost the battle after Fokker crushed her giant shurikens.

Wang-Tang vs Tako ("Octopus") Dragon
If you remember Wang-Tang & Fokker's first meeting at the Chinese dude's ramen shop, this is the part you just missed. In the manga, Wang-Tang was attacked by the Tako Brothers (instead of his fellow martial artists) and Fokker cannot control his powerstone so he's stuck watching the fight. The Tako Brothers released a huge mecha called Tako Dragon & Wang-Tang tries to damage it but failed. The machine launched a huge metal ball at him, pounding him to the ground. Fokker thinking Wang-Tang's dead, approaches the metal ball (stuck in the ground on top of WT's body...poor WT!). But to his surprise Wang-Tang has transformed & with a mighty blow, threw the metal ball back at the Tako Dragon which instantly destroys it.

Kraken fights without his giant squid
Kraken fights alone in the manga after Fokker & Wang-Tang defeats his men. Since Fokker cannot control his stone yet, WT transforms to battle. Unfortunately, Kraken uses his own powerstone to transform & sucks the lifeforce out of WT. Fokker defends his friend & was striked unconscious.

Kraken vs Valgas
Looks exciting huh? But rather funny. Kraken drags his prisoners (Fokker & WT) to his hideout & found his men lying dead & a lone figure standing on top them...Valgas! Valgas does a loooooong speech & reveals his true intensions. Seeing what the monster did to his men, Kraken leaves his prisoners to retreat but Valgas instantly kills him with a punch. Yep, the pirate died here without a fight XD

The Final Battle?
Valgas walks toward Fokker (disappointed upon hearing his ex-hero's treacherous words) to kill him. But Ryoma shows up to distract the big dude. Ayame & Rouge are there as well. They put out their powerstones to transform but Valgas sucks it from them & destroys it. Oooooo...how do they fight him now??? Valgas has transformed to his demon self & defeats the fighters. Only Fokker survives the attack.

Now how did he fight to win? If you played the first videogame, you'll find out that the powerstones actually came from a giant red powerstone. In order to stop evil from using its power, the guardians destroyed it, sending several pieces flying across the world (sounds familiar eh?). Now these pieces are what the people of the new world call powerstones (so all of them are supposed to be red & not colorful like in the anime haha!). Only special people can control the stones & these are the playable characters in the game. Now, what will happen if all pieces are made as one again?

In the game, the lightstone can change a person's look but it doesn't give him any special powers. In the manga & anime, the lightstone is made from combining all powerstones to one.

Let's go back where we left Fokker kneeling down on the unconscious bodies of his friends & pieces of their precious stones scattered all over the place. Seeing what happened, Fokker manages to collect enough willpower & finally takes control. He summons the pieces & tranforms into a level 2 version of his old transformation. Finally Valgas & Fokker face off & there was a huge explosion. You probably know who won the fight

Wait! What About Final Valgas?
Ah yes, in the anime Valgas was able to use his final form (the giant fleshy fly) with the use of the "darkstone". But in the manga, he wasn't able to do it, why?

If you remember the game, Valgas transformed into the monster fly using all the powerstones. In the manga, Fokker's the one who commanded all pieces & beat him to the 2nd transformation. Valgas cannot get the 2nd form with one stone alone, which means there's a fault in the TV series. ***super powerstone researcher!!! tee hee!***

So that's it? What Happened to the missing characters?
Jack, Galuda & Gunrock's story wasn't included in the manga so that leaves the anime & the game to you. The manga is incomplete but since the anime is being made at the same time (back in 1999), Comic Bombom decided to end it that way. But, I want a part 2! huhuhu...

1) Jack, Galuda & Gunrock

2) Fokker's real Michelle Heart logo (in the game, it is placed as a design at the back of his suit but in the manga, a new design similar to Terry Bogard's star is placed with the word "Rocket Star")

3) Ayame's family (she's always travelling with them)

4) Wang-Tang's master

5) Rouge's transformation (Yep, didn't use the stone. She acts as a guide to Fokker & Ryoma)

6) Apollus' transformation (which gained a special item in Power Stone 2)

Extra Manga Facts

~ Fokker calls his transformation "Jet the Red" XD

~ Ayame has a pet bat instead of an annoying gay brother

~ There are 3 members of the Tako Bros.

~ Apollus (Fokker's butler) is even weirder here

~ Wang-Tang decides to travel than stay in his ramen shop

There is one online shop that sells a lone Power Stone manga but let me remind you that it's used since the book was released back in 1999 but don't worry, it's in good condition. Just PM me if you're interested in buying it :)

Ayame's bat looks like a black version of her transformation na may batwings. Parang bunny yung ears tapos may flower sa forehead. Now, I'm confused if she really fused with it during her transformation kasi for what we know, she's a Ninja Bunny & not a Ninja Bat XD

It's only in the manga, although Power Stone 2 adapted the card items. Ayame's goal is to steal everyone's most precious items so she stole Fokker's card XD But when she heard the Tako Bros. mention the capability of the powerstone, she trades the card for the pilot's stone instead. Fokker is a Desufight Card Collector in the manga featuring the most powerful fighters (that proves that the main hero is indeed a kid & not the 21 yr old guy we know in the game).

Most mangas have more action scenes than what we watch in the anime. The book is more exciting, that's why I curse Studio Pierrot for making the anime suck because of more comedy & less action when Powerstone is supposed to be a fighting game.

Fokker's 2nd transformation "Jet the White" XD can only be found in the anime & the book. It's an enhanced version of his previous transformation only that he can use it when all stones are combined.

You're a Pstone2 player right? In the game, the lightstone can only change their costumes (bunny ears, devil wings, angel wings...etc.) but cannot transform them. It's a disguise to fool players who want to transform. I call it "epal stone" XD But in the anime, it's a precious item although there's no such thing as 2nd transformation in the game except for Final Valgas.

Valgas is the Gouki/Akuma of Powerstone. Sabi niya siguro kay Kraken sa manga, "Isang Suntok ka lang!" kaya tumakas yung pirata, nadedz tuloy haha! But in the game, you can beat him even when not transformed. Except that Valgas can be twice as strong when he beats you to the powerstone. Yun pa naman yung dakilang mang-aagaw kaya laging nagsusuper hehe!

Hehe! Kaya naman naging langaw si Valgas kasi sakim sa powah. Ryoma also has several action scenes pero kung anong napanood mo sa anime, yun din yung sa manga so nothing special si Ryoma. Comedy king lang talaga yun kasi saksakan ng bobo sa anime at sa manga, nagiging siryoso lang pag labanan na XD

Fokker's "Jet the White" can be seen in the Japanese DVD Cover (Last Volume). Sorry but I don't have a pic of it, only US versions

here's what i think...well so far....for the half part that i read.


its a good read, its actually great the one thing i think about this one, is that its "too" detailed, making every comment on every action they make makes it too lng to read with little action and "too" detailed for the story to progress.

its ok to do these actually but "too" much isnt good. it's like one dialogue and then the description of every movement they make then another dialogue and then another set of description about their surroundings makes it "too" much info.

i'll post my comments again after reading the whole part of it

anyway its a fun read only too detailed ;)

@Accel: It's just written by a kid so expect many errors especially the grammar---a reason why I don't have courage to submit my own fics XD

it is a good read for powerstone fans!!! it may have flaws but that doesnt make this one not a must read for powerstone fans

i liked the scene where ayame and mel met, and ayame seemed innocently cute :wub: i can imagine it already ^_^

it sure is a good story if it where to be converted into an anime.
even gourmand made his appearance on the first part :lol:
