I've been into VK since I was in highschool. I'm just wondering kung meron ba ditong mahilig sa Visual Kei like me.

Let's talk about first ever VK band you encountered (malamang karamihan Diru ...), the current band you are listening to and other stuffs.

I can't do VK - I would though, but *ahem* I'm not built for it - haha.

And yeah, first VK band would be Diru unless you want to go technical, which the answer would be Luna Sea/X Japan.

Favourite VK costume would be during Luna Sea's old Nazi Days or Diru's Vk days.

lol, I dont believe in anything that you have to be within a specific built to do VK. I personall am not exactly the most physically fit person there is pero VK parin ang style ko.

I first got into VK through Malice Mizer atleast 4-5 years ago. So around the time they went on 'hiatus' and currently, obsessed ako kay Antic Cafe/An Cafe, Alice Nine, I lost track of Miyavi na since he changed his name to MYV Rocks. And I met Riku and Kisaki from Phantasmagoria, love their music also. X-Japan, Siam Shade and Lunacy/Luna Sea saka Penicillin.

Ako, mahilig talaga sa VK. Ang style ko nga ay VK. I cut my hair into shorter spikes ala Alice Nine (pero do-able for sasuke uchiha) and I've colored it several different colors na.

kailangan ko pa kumuha ng mga pictures. Baka bukas ng umaga.

I'm also going into fashion design and onto Costume Designing sa college, pero ang main inspiration ko talaga is VK style saka EGL.
fav. stylist ko sa VK/EGL has got to be H.Naoto. Love his work :lol:

Good to see some Vk fans here, I kinda wondered if it was only me and Catherine that knew or liked VK lol. It was kinda hard labelling X Japan as VK - yeah they are the "fathers of Vk" but you know, they look more like a mix of Glam Rock and VK - uh, screw that. I know a couple of guys that do VK, I'm just hoping there'd be a bigger scene for VK and a better trend, they tend to look like their idols and little bit of difference - I'd like to see some unique VK or Kawaii-VK in the scene - like AnCafe VK - Lots of colors.

I have like 2 Albums by them but to be honest I havent heard them yet except for a couple of "I wonder what this sounds like *after 10 seconds and skips to the next song* moments" - I didn't like it though lol - But hey I know alot of people who like them so I might try them out after I finish my "Gazette is the best" music phase.

I hope someone does Gazette (I just tabbed out Red Motel like 20 minutes ago, bass that is - all finished just need a band to play it with :() Or maybe someone could do LUNA SEA! - God I miss LUNA SEA.

Shiina Ringo? Damn, that means they'll have a female vocalist screeching her voice to sound like an ol' woman. They should play Sounan then - thats if they have a pianist and a good bassist.

Anyways, dont say that - I just got my electric guitar a week ago so don't be thinking I'm like Jimi Hendrix or something, I usually play the bass though but I kinda broke my Top String haha.

I love Shiina Ringo, she's the reason why I learned to love pink. I TOTALLY hope they'll do her justice, if they really are going to perform that song.

I only got see Ethereal Anthem since I had to leave - I hitched a ride from a friend who had a curfew so :( - But one of my buddies was in a band that performed, Matt be his name - long hair and all. He's actually our drummer too.

hm...I was never a fan of BLOOD for some strange reason. Even after they came to the US for several concerts I didnt even bother to stay XD I like Phantasmagoria better. And Riku and Kisaki are really really nice. Jrockers are nice and they smell nice too lol.

yay for An Cafe and Alice Nine :D yes, An Cafe has some pretty interestinly cute music. It takes awhile to get used to them but I highly suggest watching/listening to Wagamama Koushinkyouku and TEKESUTA kousen

mahilig talaga ako ng VK kasi eh. Ano nga eh, pag uwe ko ng pinas, I might attract some unwanted attention with the way I dress and look. Multi colored hair and sometimes contacts to match. Black nails, weird makeup and the works.

Isnt VK glam rock naman talaga? So technically, X Japan did start the whole VK look/glam rock but it was Malice Mizer and Dir en Grey that took that to the next level :D

aside from Jrock, does anyone else listen to other VK bands outside of Japan? I like the korean rock band The Trax (produced by Yoshiki or X Japan XDD whee) and Eve. Sa China naman, Silver Ash. Much love and support to that band since they went through so much and their still going strong. China's first ever visual rock band :D for shameless advertisement. VK pala The Trax...nakarinig na kasi ako ng song nila, kaso di ko pa sila nakikita.

Vk is a mixture of glam rock but present VK can't be related to glam rock unless you're talking about all the leather and studs which normal rock does - confusing but hey who cares lol.

I haven't listened to anything outside of Japan but I do know The Trax and Silver Ash it's just I haven't taken anytime to actually get to know them.

In Vk though, I still do want Nazi Vk to come back haha. But I havent seen anyone be as uh ... "gothic" as malice mizer. With all the dresses and manequins look-a-like make up etc.

yeah, its a shame that we havent seen any bands like Malice Mizer and Velvet Eden lately. D'espairs Ray (i love them and all) doesnt come anywhere near as close to what Velvet Eden had. Nor did Schwartz Stein even if the members were previously of VE. VE is not VE anymore without Dada. I pretty much turned my back to them when they renamed their band The Velvet after Dada left. And one can hardly compare Phantasmagoria and Rentrer en Soi is trying to achieve as to what Lareine had. But i guess comparing such bands like that to the older founding fathers wouldnt be such a good idea since most bands lately are trying to achieve their own look/image.
Man, I'm still inlove with Kagrra XDDD for that lol.

Kagrra is awesome *sometimes* I got hooked when I saw them perform Kotodama, then noticed they wear kimonos all the time - some guy should wear a kimono and be kagrra. That'd be a + for guts.

I only have two albums from Kaggra, San and Miyako.

If I am going to be a vocalist, I would love to sing Kaggra's songs. I don't know why, but I just LOVE singing Kaggra...

About bands like Malice, there;s still Moi Dix Moix, mana's recent band that just got a new vocalist....again. That's their 3rd vocalist I think.

I have two of Moi Dix Mois albums and sadly, I am not entirely impressed. M10M seems to be alot more gothic and darker than what Malice Mizer was and yeah, sadly they got rid of the wonderful vocalist. i liked their old one. he sounded like a mix of Klaha and Gackt XD and Mana just seems to have a problem with keeping vocalists.

yeah, Platinum Dust is composed of a team of atleast 5 staff members. But its mostly me and Lisa who are really active in updating the site since we are the ones who really know and has access to the FTP program and HTMLing. But that doesnt mean the other ladies doesnt contribute. Were all pretty much seperated, like, all around the world. One is in Canada, 2 in the US, one in France and the other in Germany. So PD pretty much branches out alot :lol:


yeah, I really like Kagrra's songs. I have their whole discography but I'm sure its pretty old by now since I'm missing afew of their newer stuff.

yeah, Gackt did bring a certain...something to Malice Mizer but I'm not saying Klaha was any bad. But Gackt-era just happened to have been the best and the most long lived era :lol:

theres really nothing to be envy about XD I run alot of websites and I could always use all the help I can get. Have you tried posting in several forums or an ad in your site asking for extra help? As much as I would love to help, I'm afraid I have my hands full with alot and I mean alot of things. Such as college admissions, cosplaying, t-shirt business i'm working on and several more its crazy xD but I can contribute little by little if you want :D

I dress different too. I used to have highlights but my mom freaked out. =___= I asked her if I can cut my hair short and color it red...she said "Wag ka lang magpapakita sa kin"...

Actually when my family came here we got those heads staring at us too - I don't do Jrock by the way or viskei, I used to come from an urban area (Like the one's you see in movies - the bad places harhar) and so I arrived with my usual outfit (For my area atleast) - gangsta' look (I ain't one but like it's cold down there you'd need the hoodie lol) and like I probably looked like I was going to beat someone up or somethin' plus My bro who used to do spike his hair up just like j00 chibi-kun but now he's like normal rock + red hair (normal rock and not those sissy one's you see everyday in the Philippines harhar)

Oh and we should make our own group and banner here in PC for being the only viskei fans haha.

yeah, I still spike my hair up but currently its at a somewhat normal hair color. And I got it colored pink when I got it somewhat bleached but not completely, it was only enough to show a couple tints of pink. I dont think I want to do the WHOLE head pink. I usually do pink, thanks to Maniac Panic in memory of hide and purple or pink in memory of Kami from MM.

I went to an urban school as well, downtown San Diego for one year. Pretty crazy place. But I lived through it :lol:

my mom is slowly accepting the fact that I am a visual rocker and that I AM an artists and that she shouldnt 'smolder' my artistic capabilities. There are some plusses into going to an art school :lol: but that doesnt necessarily mean she completely supports me killing my hair with the constant dying and whatnot.

the brands I trust for the non-natural hair is Maniac Panic, it doesnt last as long but its good enough. It even shows on black hairs without pre-bleaching :D
but thats usually for the darker colors. Havent really tried the pink on pure black hair. but then again, when was the last time I've seen my hair completely black?XD more than 6 years ago thats for sure :lol:

for my own preferences, i love Malice Mizer, Dir en grey in their more visual days, and Kagrra... i like some of M10M's songs, but i prefer Malice Mizer still.
i havent really listened to many other bands becuase honestly, i don't know what other bands to listen to (partially coz my mom banned me for a while =_=). she got scared of mana and kyo. and then i have a crush on kami so that didn't help when she found he was dead. >.<

@Catherine: I love Hiroto and Shou! XD this is pretty funny since I mostly think guitarists and vocalists are kinda overrated but I just fell inlove with their hair style @___@ lol, im a sucker for good hair XD but man, I'm just inlove with Shou's voice @____@ and his shorts :lol: I actually made a pair similar to his (leg warmers and everything :lol: )
and thats where I got my new hair style/cut from XDD which really isnt all too new since its just the spikes and what not (still ala sasuke) but the bangs got shorter.

I still believed that the hair stylist cut it alittle too short, but I guess thats just how they do it. Now its alittle longer and I cut the back so its shorter (I normally cut my own hair) but I remember when I busted out the photo of Hiroto, my mom freaked at the hair stylists. But, lucky for me, my hair stylists like the style :P :lol:
