I feel that I must share this. Though this seems obsessive compulsive in my part. But this is my convention check list -- for cosplay emergencies and more.

A Basic Sewing Kit:

* scissors
* pins (straight and safety)
* bobbins of thread of every color used for your costume(s)
* needles
* snaps
* hooks and eyes
* fusible web tape (Stitch Witch)
* spare beads and buttons (if your costume contains those)


What if I have props for my costume?
If there are props, be sure to bring with you spray paint, duct tape (or similar strong tape), a hot glue gun, masking tape, and anything else you may have used in the construction of said prop. This list will vary between props.

How about wigs?
Be sure to bring silicone spray (not a necessity, but it is a good detangling aid), a wide tooth comb or pick, Aquanet hairspray, a wig cap to wear under your wig (and to help flatten your own hair under said wig), bobby pins and hair combs.

Another thing that I find indispensible is Spirit Gum! it sticks costumes and things to your skin. As well as nailpolish - the clear kind. it saves you from having runny stockings/pantyhose!

Do not forget also to bring bandaids, double sided tape and velcro. These things save my life for evil costumes!

and dont forget your conventional lola or nanay to sew them for you if you dont have time ^_^
