GrooveNet puts the Philippines on the Virtual World Map

After a little over a year of service, www.groovenet.ph just migrated all of its members' avatars from There Philippines to the global version of There. The decision was recently made by both Makena and GrooveNet to integrate its existing Filipino community with There's dynamic and fast growing community and allow the two to grow together.

There Overview
There is a free 3D virtual online community where members use their personal customizable avatar to chat with friends, meet new people, participate in group activities, and explore a massive online 3D world. In addition to chatting, There has various group games to participate in, including paintball matches, buggy races, trivia and other contests. Members can customize their online avatars to match their appearance, with over 500 customizable options for facial, body, and skin tone characteristics. Apart from traditional keyboard chatting, There also has a VOIP option which allows its members to use a microphone to make their avatar speak.

There Philippines Neighborhood
There Philippines members will have their own massive neighborhood called, "The Philippines" which will be located on one of the many islands in There. This Filipino virtual neighborhood will be a focal point for all of There's Filipino members to rent out virtual land and houses and build a community of their own.
Filipino members will be able to venture out from The Philippines neighborhood and explore other islands while engaging in activities with American and other foreign members. These foreign members are also able to visit The Philippines neighborhood to hang out with Filipino members. There will essentially become a great place for local Filipinos and Filipinos abroad to meet and engage in online activities together. It also lends as a medium for Filipinos to interact with Americans and other nationalities for a true virtual global experience.

Welcome Party
The present community in There had been anticipating the arrival of the Filipino members and has even organized a Welcome Party for them on Saturday September 19 located in The Philippines Neighborhood.
