Description: What do you do at your cons?

Cosplay events are held
differently around the world.
What do you do at cosplay events where you live? :)

I live in Chicago and go to 2 cons a year. At least, thats my average. In cons here, we have scheduled photoshoots for particular groups. Say, Naruto will be at 3pm on Friday and Final Fantasy will be at 6p Friday. And that helps us plan our days and cosplays per day well. we usually wear more than one cosplay per con day. ( Since the average conventions last 3 days) In one convention I wore 9 costumes once! ( never again!)
Something new in cons right now is the dance/rave and the formal. which people cosplay as characters in formal attire. I'm actually psyched about that one

@marikit: 9 costumes!? grabe un a! nde ko kaya un!
marikit - March 10, 2006 11:00 AM (GMT)
yes, and it was really because i wanted to get to all the gatherings. (WHY DOES NARUTO ALWAYS HAVE TO CLASH WITH FINAL FANTASY GATHERING TIME!?) Which is another good tip. If you plan groups and gathering, please make sure that youre not stepping on another group's time. >.> maybe people want to see the group shoot or have costumes to wear in that shoot. I had the same problem before

wow^_^ Just in time for my migration there, I hope I'll have time to cosplay Camilla from Vampire Hunter D: Blood Lust^_^

Cosplayers here often sit and mill around in their costumes hpping for picture opportunities. Oftentimes, they would be in character - acting like their character. I actually drove people nuts by adding -kupo! after every sentence in my Gunner moogle costume! And Geron actually went around the con eating chips - yes, eating chips and being very very stingy with them!

i live in the states, sa san diego california. I'm armed with my own car, the ability to drive and poor income for an otaku but that doesnt stop me from traveling to atleast 3-6 cons a year.
i run a booth in the exhibition hall for a small business, i'm a photographer who takes photos of cosplayers as well as private photoshoots for paid costumers, interviewer for a online ezine, promoter for several websites (sometimes paid just for cosplaying) and of course there the random stuff we just do. Like run around in costumes. Go to karaokes, arcades and dances in costume XD
busy palagi sa conventions. With several cosplay gatherings to attend to as welll as animes to view, guests to interview, photos to be taken. Nakakapagod @___@ll

I would like to link the e-zine. Can I see it? And I would chat with you sometime

I believe the ezine is under hiatus or construction mode as I have not heard from my boss as of late. And I also work for Ooh-la-la.nu as a pretty much all around staffer. But again, that website too went into construction mode as not 100% of the site is up yet @___@ll

I found power bars and gatorade is your best friend and savoire when running around in cons  as much as I hate carrying a bag with me to cons, I still know that I need to bring them so I can carry supplies to keep me going throughout the con without having to run back to the hotel which is usually atleast a couple blocks away.

Multiple costumes at cons are also pretty normal around here. well, since we do it in a hotel connected to the con center - its not a problemt to go back to the room and change. I have 5- 6 costumes planned for ACEN. It's gonna be one heckuva ride.
Chibi-kun - April 3, 2006 02:55 AM (GMT)
lol, ako rin marikit. I have atleast 4-5 costumes to wear and change in and out of into for Anime Expo. And hopefully, squeezing in another one or two just to wear to the rave and masq. ball. And the masq. itself @____@
