so what made you cosplay?

I started cosplaying last 2002 because a friend of mine asked me to come to this con and cosplay our favorite characters. At first I didn't agree with him because I am relatively shy.

I got inspired from a friend. I've always wanted to wear my favorite characters' outfits. I started cosplaying when I was a 5 yr old, imitating Karate Kid & stealing dad's hankies to tie it on my head as a bandana. Then when I was 11, I copied Chun-li's bao bao hair style.

my parents use to dress me up in super heroe costumes just for the heck of it. And like wantan, I did the whole bandana routine also when I was younger (8-12) XDD then i got introduced to jrock and did some EGL. And I guess a friends of mine planned to go to AX and we decided to dress up. And thats how it all started

Ako naman nung bata ako nasubukan ko nang maging Ghostbuster...
(I was 2 or 3 yrs old yata nun....)
Tapos naging Spiderman na rin ako....(birthday ko... 5th yata...)
Tapos.... aun! Basta ganun!

Noong 1 year ako nag-suot ako sailor @ ang kyut ko tlga nun at nung 2 yrs old n me, nag capt. america ako (BANGIS!!!) then nung last ko nung 4 years old.... BATMAN nman ako hehehehe

may mga tao din akong ngbgay s kin ng pamamaraan para ibalik ang m=pag-cosplay ko and that's my privacy hehehehe

mahilig kc ako s anime, nasimulan kong kahiligan 2 nung grade 4 p ako
nakita ko kc ung ate ko n dndrowing c gokou, e xempre bata p ko nun kya mahilig s kung anu-anung makita ko n mganda. ginagaya ko p nga ung mga anime chara 2lad ng s DBZ akala 2loy ng mama ko e tibo ako hehe hanggang ngaun e gnun p rin ang tingin ng mama ko & mga sis ko skin, pro mas gs2 ko ung gnun kesa nman s pgisipan nila ako n malandi pg dting s boys

Since I was a kid, I was inspired if I could dress like my favorite anime character ( ung mga araw na grade 4 or 5 pa lang ako nun ) and then I hesitated so I took a break on that thing ( saka sa budget na rin at saka di ko rin alam kung saan ako mag-cocosplay ) then, I finally get to know some people who are in to cosplaying.. since then I finally got the guts to join the world of cosplayers and also the inner most depth ( sana!? ) of anime world..

I'm a big fan of certain anime since highschool (1993 the time sailormoon first aired))because of it I became a loner. Everyone in school wanted to be so "sophisticated" and those people from those so-called groups thinks I'm their mortal enemy...their opposite. They serve as the nightmare in my highschool and college years. Heh I dont care. I am a college graduate now and still I'm even more into anime than I was before. I cosplayed lately because I just wanted to. ^^

I may be alone but I'm happy thanks to anime.

My inspiration....my sensei the infamous DJ Ranma Saotome...aka "Black Ranma". He introduced me to the wonderious worlds of conventions and cosplay.

pinagpipilitan ako ng dad kong magcosplay last year. then may nakita akong cosplayer na gusto ko ung char.. at first pinag iisipan ko pa kung magcocos me (kuripot kasi ako..) later on.. with the lil (little nga ba?) push of maksim.. and the love for type-moon stories.. nagcos na rin me this year

actually it all started when i first laid my eyes on MAKUBEX @_@ labo noh ? kaya yung first cosplay ko sa animax robo-dream 2005 as Kakei Sakura in dedication to MAKUBEX XP

Wow! Astig naman ng dad mo, pro-cosplay. Bihira ang parent na ganun! Ako pinilit din ako ng isang cosplayer friend ko & dahil natutuwa din akong magcosplay ng videogame charas.

Yung sa akin naman.... well, napilitan ko lng ang sa sarili ko magcosplay. Bakit? A year ago, na i-intriga ako sa anime conventions especially the cosplay. Medyo hnd ko p alam yun that time but after a day or 2 nalaman ko rin kung ano yung cosplay (bilis noh? ^_^ ) Tapos nagkaroon d2 sa gapo ng cosplay competition (the first & last), bale inisip ko yung friend ko na magcosplay sya instead of me because hnd pa ako interesado. Ako na nagplano kung ano ang costume nya at ako na rin ang gumawa! But then something happened, biglang nagback-out ang friend due to work shift. Bale, wala na ako nagawa & there's only one thing to do..... Ako na mismong nagcosplay para sa kanya! Before that, gumawa muna ako ng props since first time & simple lng ang costume ko at doon ko na gawa ang very first props, the DUEL DISK. And on Oct 28, 2004, that was my very first cosplay. Yung Inspiration ko? Syempre yung friend ko though hnd sya nakapunta, dinedicate ko na lng yun para sa kanya since i made that costume just for HER.

hehe thankks ung mom ko ok lang sa kanya pero pagsinasabi ko sa kanya parang titigan nya muna ako tapos "ok..." ehehe minsan pagtumitingin me ng pics sabi nya icos ko daw un.. e ala nmn akong pera at baguhan pa me.. di ko pa kaya.. hehe (sponsor nila ako payag ako..) though ako pa rin ang may gastos s lahat.

ung ayaw ko lang sa dad ko... kinukulit nya akong manalo.. kahit ilang beses kong sinasabi sa knaya na nkikipagkaibigan ako sa cosplay kaya ako sumali. :P

my first cosplay was AXN Con 2001 July 7 in Atrium A of Megamall.

At first my friends convinced me to look for anything in my closet to cosplay as an AXN character. then i wanted to buy a sega dreamcast, using the prize money if i should win. alas, a budget costume gets you no award, but i met new friends :)

Then i enjoyed cosplaying. i stopped when i can't compensate for the costs anymore... that was C3con2.

Oh my... Sino ka dun? Nag-Makoto of SF3 kasi ako nun e tapos si Jenny nandun din nakablack kimono.

First cosplay ko yun. Si Jenny pinilit ko na rin sumali kahit ayaw niya lolz! Kaya halos buong araw bad trip siya. Pero nung nakita niya yung creativity ng mga cosplayers natuwa na rin siya tapos nagpromise siya na sasamahan ako sa Resident Evil cosplay plan. Claire siya then ako si Rebecca nung C3 Con 2003.

sa totoo lang.. sobrang nahihiya acong magcosplay kasi wala namang bagay saken.. pero a friend encouraged me to.. kaya yun. masaya nga yung part na gagawa ka na ng costume.. ang galing. nakakatuwa pa lalo pag tapos na yun costume. ang saya talaga magcosplay. whee whee whee!

yeah, i noticed na ikaw yung nag makoto nung nakit ko gallery mo sa dev art but...

HOLY MACKEREL! nde ko namalayan na magkasunod lang kami ni jenny sa catwalk! i remember talking to her habang nakapila. she said she's cosplaying kamiya kaoru of rurouni kenshin... small world eh? :P

nagcosplay ako as reiji kageyama of gatekeepers :)

bakit ako nagcosplay? masaya kasi dahil alam ko isa akong malaking anime fan. Alam ko kaya ko at talagang gustong gusto ko kaya ako sumasali.

Nothing actually inspired me to cosplay before. As Wantan said, PINILIT LANG NIYA AKO :lol: :lol: :lol:
Kung sino na lang talaga maisip ko na cosplay, eh. Tapos nung unang convention NA-CULTURE SHOCK pa nga ako nun kasi iba talaga ang mundo ng mga cosplayers, MGA WEIRD!!! Nakakaloka!

Pero nasanay na rin ako. And it's fun kasi para ka na ring naging famous kasi maraming nagpapa-picture na fans.

I guess I got inspired when I knew Claire Redfield. I really like her, she rocks!!!

I also got inspired with the powerfusion Julia of PowerStone 2 that I even cosplayed her last...er, kelan ba yun, ate? (Wantan) yung unang launch ng Rose Online thing...

Lang ya to, kinalimutan ba naman ang winning costume niya! Sa UGotGame Pro yun, di ba? Finalists buong Powerstone group tapos ikaw nanalo lolz!

Nung nagbabasa ako ng Culture Crash, naninibago ako sa mga nakita kong mga tao na nakacostume at hindi naman nila kamukha o kagaya naman. Maliban nga lang kay JM Chua nung nagSaito siya.

D nagtagal, sa kakabasa ng Culture Crash at Questor, ako'y nainteresante na rin pero hindi pa buo ang pagiging desidido ko. Nang ako'y nakapunta sa una kong convention na ang UGG 2004, doon ko nakilala sa personal ang mga taong sinasaludo ko at mataas ang tingin.

Sila'y: Robert Wong, JM Chua, Jerry Polence at Paul Mendoza pati na rin si Evil Groobs.

I was inspired of the the character's character - as in...As I cosplay, I choose the one who I can relate to myself. Also, the style, one more thing that appeals to me encourages me to cosplay that certain role. One more thing, I get my inspiration from the cosplayers :) , specially the winning ones - yeah!
