^_^ Well, I'm about to cosplay and it's my first time. I'm quite tensed as the con that i'm attending is coming.. And another thing is, I'm going to cosplay a character that is not common to the crowd, they might not even know who's i'm cosplaying.. -.-''

At first i'm thinking not to cosplay this character but I still have the costume made because I really like the character esp her outfit..!!

lol. I guess it's okay to cosplay a character that isn't well-known, kasi parang nipropromote mo yung animé\game na yun, tos magtatanong sila kung sino ka and whatnot, tos yun sisikat.

Actually, if I were going to cosplay, I would pic a character which is not well-known. I might not be popular but I can promote the anime / game / or whihever the character is from. Not only that, I can be assured that I don't have a "twin" in the cosplay.

Sometimes, it's better to be unique, that being branded as un-original.

im also a newbie at cosplaying but my advice is portray your character as much as you can.

prepare at least 4 or more poses of your character para inde malito kung anu gagawin mo once na nasa stage ka na.

It's understandable that you are tensed when you cat walk on stage or in front of many people. But once you get the hang of it, you'll build your self-confidence and you will conquer your fears.

Here are a few tips in catwalking:

• Make sure that your dress isn't dragging on the the ground so as to minimize tripping. If it is dragging, make sure you hold your dress properly before going up the stage.
• Be aware of the markers on the stage.
• Listen to what the marshalls / volunteers on the event so as to know which way to go.
• And don't forget to look at how the cosplayer before you cat walk, you can pick up a tip or two and maybe know which direction to go, which way to exit and the like.

I'm also a newbie at cosplaying...I'm gonna cosplay at Manila Int'l Gifts Show

First of all, I'm trying to cosplay a character from Final Fantasy 8, a Galbadian soldier...Not much people know these guys coz they're one of the weaker enemies in FF (coz they're normal human beings in armor) and the first losers you'll have fun beating up (coz they're human beings in armor)...

The concept art was detailed but without the benefit of color, so I guess I'll have to color the thing myself...

Is it enough that after I give the judges the reference pics, I strut my stuff and do a little attack moves? Or some short words to say for audience appeal? The soldier's pic can be seen at my signature below..Thanx!!!

Here's one tip. Know thy character very well (it worked for me as Shingo once...). That spikes your confidence to new heights. And that makes you feel like you're in the zone.. or that really puts you into character.

wala akong iba kasing kakilala sa cosplay community nun kung hindi yung 3 kong friends na cosplayers.... pero sa katagalan dami kong nakikilala kada convention.... sorry talaga, sa sobrang dami, di ko na matandaan ang pangalan ninyong lahat.^_^; Pero nakikilala ko lahat kayo pag nakikita ko kayo sa convention.^_^

actually pagnasa stage discarte mo yan kun ano gus2 mo gawin. At madalas they give time for you to ramp on stage ^_^ depende sa organizers.

Una kong cosplay sa Ragnafest 2005 and aku ung Sohee and of course dahil first time ma shoshock ka. HIndi ko nga alam ang tamang pagkacatwalk e. Bara-bara lang kami nung group namin..Hay....

Nung KAME naman, aus lang pero ala masyadong nakakilala sa min kasi Di Gi CHarat (i'm dejiko), so nung catwalk namin and skit, parang nakatingin lang samin ung audience.

Advice ko lang poh, wag kaung mahiya kung hindi kilala ung character nio!! BAsta ang mahalaga, be yourself at ma-carry nio ung judgement sa inyo!! Yeah!! :lol:

basta kapag baguhan, try to relax as much as possible then magisip ng mga pwedeng gawin sa stage.
