Interent Cafe Congress is inviting cosplayers to join it's Cosplay competition on March 10&11, 2007

Cosplay event details....


Character Eligibility

Acceptable character genre of the event will be OPEN CATEGORY: anime, manga, games, comics, movies, western fandom, western animation, j-pop, j-rock, harajuku fashion, gothic lolita, original creation etc.


Dates and Duration

1. Events will commence in two days (March 10&11).
- Day 1 (March 10) Individual
- Day 2 (March 11) Group

Registration Guidelines

1. Registration, holding, and dressing area will be at Megamall Conference Room A (near Megatrade Hall and The Wedding Library.) Only cosplayers will be allowed inside the Conference Room for the duration of the event. Only the event organizers will determine for possible extension of deadline.
2. On-site/at-con registration only,
- Individual: March 10, 10:30 am - 2pm, 100 available slots.
- Group: March 10, 10:30 am - 2pm, March 11, 10:30 am - 12nn, 2-5 members per group, 20 slots
3. Contestants will be required to sign a image release waiver
4. Submit 4 images of the character to be cosplayed.
5. Individuals can only register themselves, other people can't register for others.
6. Minor contestants, should present a concent from their parent/s and/or legal guardian/s sign the waiver/image release form. Children below 10 should be accompanied by their parents or guardian.

Costume Provisions
1. Costumes exposing private parts are prohibited.
2. Messy costumes are also not allowed, such as dripping paint or fake blood, any subtance that can stain when in contact with other people.
3. Any kind of costume prop/s that will be used by a cosplayer mustn’t be harmful to his fellow cosplayers, event attendees and event staff.
4. Any kind of costume prop/s must be handled with utmost care by the cosplayer. Sharp and/or bladed objects that could inflict damage or cut human flesh are strictly prohibited. Also any kind of pyrotechnic equipment, breaking of glass items and/or prop/s are strictly prohibited for there’s a possibility that it could inflict damage to the venue and property.
5. Messy props like feathers or confetti are allowed as long as it is minimal and the cosplayer is willing to clean it after the performance
6. Liquid props onstage is not allowed. Strictly no jumping off the stage. Cosplayers should inform organizers for cosplay if their skits will not agree with the instructions given to them for that day or for any other requests.
7. Event organizers and its staff won’t be held responsible in any way in any event that would render damage and/or loss to a cosplay participant and to his/her property; also event organizers can disqualify contestants who ignores and/or violates any of the aforementioned guidelines.

Other basis for disqualification:
1. Picking a fight with the organizers and other cosplayers, in and out of the event hall.
2. Subotaging, stealing and destroying event properties and other cosplayers'
3. Cosplayer is not present 15 minutes before the call time.
4. Unruly behaviour during the convention
5. Refusing to sign image realease waiver.
6. If cosplayer is not ready by the call time.

The Internet Cafe Congress and PinoyCosplay reserve the right to photographically and videographically document cosplay participants at the event. Such documentation shall remain the property of the Internet Cafe Congress and PinoyCosplay.

Individual Cosplay Guidelines

- An individual cosplay participant can only register on-site/at-con on March 10 from 10:30am to 2pm for 100 cosplayers ONLY
- All individual cosplayers must present themselves in the holding area by 2:30 pm, and be ready to ramp by 2:45 pm.
- An individual cosplay participant can join the group cosplay category that would be held on June 18 even as a minor role.
- An individual cosplay participant will be given a max stage time limit of 2 minutes.
- 10 finalist for individual cosplay will be announced by the end of the competition and will be asked to return in costume the next day for awarding

Group Cosplay Guidelines

- The cosplay group can register on-site/at-con on March 10 from 10:30 am to 2pm and March 11 from 10:30 am to 12 nn. All group members must present themselves for registration. No addition or removal of members is allowed after registration. Group can be disqualified if members are not present by 11:45 pm and ready by 12 nn on March 11.
- A single cosplay group must consist of at least 2 and a max of 5 members
- A member of a particular cosplay group can only join and/or part on only one cosplay group and he/she isn’t allowed to join other cosplay group/s.
- Cosplayers have 5 minutes cosplay skit, after that they will here a buzz and be escorted out of the stage.

Judging and Prizes

BEST Cosplay Group

Certificate of Participation will be given to all cosplayers. Goodie bags for all winners, and a trophy to the top three individual and the top group cosplay winners.


Criteria for Judging

40% - Craftsmanship
30% - Accuracy
20% - Stage Performance
10% - Audience Impact

Winners will be announced on March 11 at 2 pm. Only the top ten finalists from the individual cosplay on March 10 will be required to return in full costume for presentation on March 11 for final judging.

Judges' decision are final, it is not appealable or contestable, any will not be entertained.

If you would like to volunteer as a marshall for this event, please PM me your name, contact number, schedule of availablity on March 10 and 11, and why you would like to volunteer. Volunteers are required to be PATIENT, sociable, helpful, and very flexible.

According to the organizers, dressing rooms will surely be provided, holding area is still at works, and cosplayers will be allowed to bring food and drinks inside, just minimize the litter.^_^

With due respect to the organizers and moderators of this forum and the event, we like to request that you change your cosplay contest guidelines for your event.

The Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention and Collectibles Unlimited does not authorize any event or any one to use our MATERIAL without our approval.

This was reported to me awhile ago and I'm surprised to see some part of our contest guidelines pasted in your cosplay rules and also our company COLLECTIBLES UNLIMITED mentioned in your rules, since we are NOT affiliated with your event.

The cosplay contest rule is formulated by our cosplay team and COLLECTIBLES UNLIMITED.

from your contest rule -

"Upon signing the waiver/image release form will give the organizers and PinoyCosplay have the right and authority to take videos and/or photographs of its cosplay participants at its discretion and therefore will be the property of Collectibles Unlimited. This will also give organizers to use the image and/or likeness of its cosplay participants for current and/or future advertisement and/or promotion in any kind of media whatsoever. "

Actually, there was an individual cosplay competition yesterday. Batella won, to a chorus of screaming young girls. :)

ayus lang naman yun e. ang problema di naman nagpaalam. yun ang masaklap dun. ano ba naman yung magpaalam diba? kasimpleng bagay lang.

Ngayon lang ako nakakita na ganung pag-trato sa mga cosplayers.

sulit yung pagod mo. Actually ang compliment na ito ay para din sa mga sponsors

hindi lang sa organizers. Sana naman hindi tayo sarado mag-isip.

sayang kasi ang mga ganitong event na mas makikilala nang mga tao ang

Agree ako kay batella. Mabait yung organizers, lahat ng cosplayers may freebies/souvenirs, at may lounge pa (na syempre maraming upuan) na hindi mainit. Salamat po sa bumuo ng ICC.

At kahit NR yung crowd, kasi bago pa lang sa kanila yung idea ng cosplay, receptive naman sila. May mga nagtanong pa nga sakin na matatanda, natuwa raw sila sa cosplayers (esp. sa wig namin ni Nilo). :lol:

Congrats po sa lahat ng nagpunta. Kahit konti lang tayo nung day 2, masaya naman.

Thanks Batella and to all, will try to do better next time. Sorry for those who came the second day, the conferrence room was not reserved anymore. Rest assured there would be pre-registration next time, if if we confirm more than 50 cosplayers for both days, we will try our best to reserve.
