The Philippine Order of Narnians Costume Play (CosPlay) Contest
General Considerations: Costumes must not be gory, messy, or too obstructive to the flow of people during the event. Costumes must also be wholesome and merit a rating not above GP.
Contest Rules and Guidelines:
Who can the contestants play? Contestants may portray any character or creature/object from Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe from Walden Media and Disney, or from any of the books in the Chronicles of Narnia. Characters, creatures or objects based on the BBC film adaptations or on the Trumpets’ stage play, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” are considered eligible.
All contestants must register in order to participate in the contest. Registration will end at 3:00 PM on Sunday, 8 January 2006, at the TPON booth in Shangri-La Plaza mall Level 5.
To pre-register, kindly send an email to Rej Layug (rejjventress@gmail.com) with your name, age, phone number, and name and picture of the character you are portraying.
There will be two categories for the contest:
Kids - 12 years old and below
Adults- 13 years old and above
Contestants for the Kids category must be accompanied by a parent or authorized guardian during registration and contest proper.
Real weapons and potentially harmful props are not allowed inside the Shangri-La Mall and will therefore not be allowed for use as a prop during the contest.
The contest will officially start at 4:00 PM. Each contestant will have a maximum of 1 minute to present his/her costume to the judges and the audience. Contestants who are not present when their names/numbers are called will be disqualified. Times are tentative and subject to change.
There will be three winners per category (first place, second place, and third place). Prizes are to be announced. Winners will be announced on the day of the event.
The judges' decision is final and cannot be contested.
By entering the contest, the contestant agrees to all the rules and conditions. He or she also agrees to respect the final decision of the judges. Failure to do so will result in the disqualification of contestant.
CRITERIA FOR JUDGING
50% - Costume Accuracy and Craftsmanship
40% - Projection (portrayal of character)
10% - Audience Impact
