Did your teacher actually use the word COSPLAY?

Tell your teacher that cosplay usually denotes dressing up as characters from manga, anime, tokusatsu, and video games.

Also VERIFY what your teacher means by "from a book". Does this include NOVELS, short stories, legends, graphic novels, comic books, history books, religious books, poetry, epics and ballads?

That means you can dress up as any character from any manga comic, even as Superman, Batman, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, the wide-mouthed Dominican nun from EDSA 1986, Hitler, John Lennon, Jesus Mary and Joseph, King Arthur and the knights of the round table, Beowulf, Snow White and the seven dwarfs, the little mermaid, almost any movie or tv character.

But if your teacher meant NOVEL, there are MANY movies based on novels.

A few of the latest Hollywood movies

Da Vinci Code
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Harry Potter
Lord of the Rings
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
The Devil Wears Prada

Philippine Literature also finds its way to the silver screen:

Noli Me Tangere
Bulaklak ng Maynila
Bata Bata, Paano Ka Ginawa
Dekada 70
