headbutt - August 10, 2006 12:22 PM (GMT)

Hi and hello to all the Mobius Forumers,

It is I Xue, your former GameMaster for Mu Online and GunBound (2004), your former Community Manager and Forums Administrator (2005).

Well, everything must come to an end and with it, we must move on to achieve that which we dreamed to be when we were kids. My last day here with Mobius / Digital Media Exchange, Inc. is nearing, on the 24th of June 2006, I will be counting my last hours of duty/work for this great company.

I may or may not login in Mu Online and GWC that day, but if I do, I will be taking screenshots of the community (yes you) together with my GM account. Just like before, when I was still in the other company and knows as "GM-Yukino", I will try to have one last public appearance and chat session for all.

Thank you to all for giving me a fun and exciting stay in this company, yes, you, even we haven't met personally, and most of you, we haven't met online, you made my stay here adventurous because one way or another, you were able to affect me and my job (in a good way and in a bad way).

I will be going out-of-country to go to my new work where I got a really good offer and a very good oppurtunity to pursue my dreams. No, I'm not saying this company or my former company (before Mobius) are not-so-good, but I am saying that it is time to take another step forward, another step up the ladder of life and success to achieve my goals and my lifelong dreams.

Being in the gaming industry, being one of the pioneers, a major workforce, and an influence in the Philippine Online Gaming Market (yeah, flame me... some will not agree.. but take note I said "being one of"), is already a big achievement to me and I know that my involvement helped a lot of people.

My next job is not game related, it's more on customer service (not a call-center either), more on meeting people (not a sales person). Through this new field of work, I know I will be able to grow and better improve myself to face this very competitive world.

But gaming will always be a part of me. I will be back in the Philippine (Online) Gaming Industry and right now I can say that it will be in a different area. To help addicted gamers to get out of their addiction and regain control of their lives. Little do many of you know, 10 years ago, I was in that very same position many of our gamers today are experiencing. There were no clinics before and game addiction is unheard of. Today, clinics and studies are being done worldwide on how to combat this new type of addiction, and let's face it, there are lots of Filipino gamers who are in this situation today.

When that time comes, I will lend a helping hand to all those who needs help. Just like you, just like everyone of you out there, I am also a gamer, I am no god, I am no deity, I may be a GM, I may be someone respected (or disrespected) in the society but I am like you, you, you, you, and you. I am no different.

And with that I leave you all a message that most of the people behind these (online) gaming companies are gamers themselves. At least here in the Philippines, I haven't heard of a gaming company that blocked applications from gamers (there are some in India and Thailand). Don't be so angry at them, don't get pissed at them, don't think ill of them - just like you, we are only doing our jobs and what the people above us, higher than us tells us. Just like your parents, love ones, friends and relatives, even your enemies, we are all working for a living. As much as we want to give leeways, as much as we want to satisfy all your needs, as much as we want to return items, as much as we want to give away free items, there are protocols in place that we must follow.

This is what I always say to the players when I am talking to them when they are really angry, lol, that's why until now they are insisting that GM-Yukino is a girl because girls listen to people, girls talk nicely but guys are.. nev'r mind (talk about stereotyping).

Anyway, to all of you, we provide games so each and everyone of us (you and me) will have other ways to enjoy and meet people, not to have enemies. If you study hard, you will be able to play your favorite games longer.

Finally, always take care of your reputations. These games are online communities do not, again do not take these online communities for granted. Employers are now looking into these communities for additional information and profile about their applicants. Everything you post in the internet has more chance of staying there and searchable in search engines for maybe up to 10 years. Be careful. I can still search for my tracks from 11 years ago when I first went online. And there are many job hunters already who lost a potential high-paying job because they left bad tracks in the internet, from online gaming to their friendster/myspace/hipster/everyone's connected's profiles.

God Bless to all of you :D
