here you go
1st: cut the parts using illustration board ~the sword is to long for just 1 whole illustration so use 2 or some left-overs from the 1st one~
2nd: get a pvc pipe
3rd: carve the handguard using some styro
4th: glue it all together ~like the one on the rigth of the pic~
5th: use paper mache to cover & shape the handguard
6th: paint it up ~ the black parts you could just paint/draw it on for details~
7th: add the final touches ~like cover the handle with ribbon/shoelace~
for questions just pm me ^_^

Well... most people just buy them from divisoria for around 30 - 50 for the paper mache ones and for the resin ones they are around 250, some stores at the mall like a toy store may sell plastic ones as well.
If you really want to make your own.... ask a friend to make a cast on your face using pieces of tissue paper (cut into sim card size) and clothing starch solution(gawgaw pang almirol). This procedure is tidious and time consuming, not to mention itchy, but results are accurate and worth it. From there you can make a resin mask. Or just reinforce it with layers of white glue, sand paper first to smoothen, be sure to apply smoothly after each thick coating.
For that resin solution and procedure... you can google it.
Ok, if you are talking about a face mask that has an entirely different structure as the human face, like Alponse FMA armor costume, that one is a bit easier. Better yet, post a picture here, so I give you a better advice.
