in comparin Larc and MCR... i don't think that they're similar.
they both belong to the same genre (rock) but i think their styles (music-wise) differ.
MCR is more of emo/goth rock (frick i am gonna get flamed for this; never thought they could mix in my LIFE but thats what happened.) while L'arc is more of rock, period.
and also the overall feel of the music is different. Larc remains to be rather light-hearted while MCR is more heavy.
in that sense, i don't think that MCR could be the US's L'arc...
but in terms of popularity... hehe maybe ^_^

So your saying because they were suits, they can be compared to L'arc en Ciel? HELL NO. Thats practically comparing every single J-rock/VK band to each other which isn't right. There totally different, there music is different and MCR is not emo. But I'm getting sooo confused on which is not emo and what IS emo. btw, EMO = EMOTIVE, not emotion.

You can't really compare a song of an japanese band to a western band like MCR..

yes somehow they've got something that's quite the same..
but for me Coheed and cambria is more of the western counterpart..
in some ways but not totally.. of course..
esp with their song ten speed..
it really sounded like a sentai theme or something..
even the suffering and byebye beautiful..
siguro kasi yung boses ng vocalist + the beat and the guitars didn't sound like an ordinary rock/ alternative song...

i dont agree.. para sa akin ang layo... sobra.... sa mga songs pa lang wala tlgang similarity... its not that ayaw ko sa MCR.. i like their songs.. pero i dont think they can be even compared to Laruku... saka sa mga vids.. malayo na tlga... ung sa vid ng rready steady go.. blurry eyes.. driver's high... kasi ung MCR more like goth type sa mga vids... ung sa Laruku kung ano mapagtripan nila.. tulad nung sa blurry eyes magdamit daw ba clang babae...

O mga sa mga fan ng emo music dyan eto para sa inyo, sana magsilbing eye opener sa inyo itong kantang ito....

MCR and laruku are both rock bands but they have different style

they told me not to listen to metallica, guns n roses, marilyn manson among others. but still i went on.. and now i'll always live on the mantra " f*ck you! i won't do what you tell me!! " (just in case- people of the sun [rage against the machine])

Me i listen to Emo and MCR is alright by me but comparing MCR with Laraku is a big thing bec. there is a HUGE difference

At kahit magkapareho (meaning) man ung lyrics you cant still compare bec. Its on the way they sing their songs.

Note: this is just my observation wag nyo siryosohin hehe

Emo tries to develop the sadness and darkness of the lyrics (well some of the emo bands and songs)

While in Jrock the lyrics may be sad and the like but they sing it in a different tune not sad [example Hide just read the lyrics on some of his songs]

Nasa satin n yn on how we look at music bec. its our own different oppinions :D hehe

mga dude... msyadong malayo ang MCR s laruku... pkinngan mo n lng.. ang tugtugan nla... msyadong magkaiba... pero c hyde.. mdami syang influential bands s uk... kya ung iba nlang kanta kgaya ng mga british.. pero kumakanta c hyde ng cover ng mga american artist... tulad ni marilyn manson ung sweet dreams n kanta nya.. kinanta rin ni hyde.. meron akong cd... nun.. pti ung lucy in the sky with diamonds.. uk band nman un.. beatles ang kumanta.. idol din ni hyde ang depeceh mode...

Ahh, this hurts me because I'm a fan of both L`arc~en~ciel and My Chemical Romance. Ironically, Laruku is one of my favourite Jrock bands and My Chem is also a favourite American band.

What I really hate is how people judge My Chemical Romance because of their appearance. If you ever listen to their songs, they're not full of hate at all. I do agree that their second album's theme is about revenge but its not encouraging hate! That album is about victims of gun violence. And also, why are people only flaming My Chem? Black Flag's songs are about revenge but I don't see anyone flaming them. I hate how people judge a band by their looks. If anything, Dir En Grey is a band that talks about DEATH. Kyo even friggin cuts his stomach during concerts.

Anyways, MCR is also not emo. Wearing suits, having black hair and pale make up doesn't make a band emo. Simple plan=That's emo.

I do believe that both MCR and Laruku are very talented. I love their songs and they have different styles of music. They're also both very talented. Both Ken (Laruku) & Ray (MCR) are talented guitar players. I don't know much about Ken. But I do know that Ray is just amazing. He is like Van Halen to me.

But yeah. I'll post some more later. xD
